I am a Communication graduate born in Argentina with a hobby I carried to my new homeland: collect everything I find interesting, meaning post cards, pieces of graphic advertising and even gum packaging.

As a former copywriter, my landing in Israel with no Hebrew revolutionized my criteria of “reading”. Due to my new language limitation, I flirted with colors and shapes instead of letters and words that were just too hard to learn. Soon I found myself collecting more and more items, dedicating all my time in recycling them into handmade collages.

There are some pieces inspired in family and friends I call Portraits.  I also create such portraits for clients who have shared with me the story of their loved ones, and want to make their personal stories tangible through a collage as a special gift for the portrayed.

Other collages are representative of a special occasion, such as a trip, a pregnancy; or a strong emotional trigger that requires a collage to capture the uniqueness of the moment and treasure it forever.

 

With all the pieces I develop a strong connection; and this art technique has been a therapeutic discovery. An exercise to join pieces of my old life together with my new start; capturing the recent experiences and people I explore in Israel and writing about them through these collage-stories.
